We have had a great weekend wandering through Worcestershire and surrounding counties remembering such glorious landscapes lie on our doorstep. We went to Bodenham Arboretum, trickled our way across fords and through lanes to Ludlow for a walk and some food shopping.
Then to the night's contrasts. We had booked via lastminute.com into the Royal Oak in Leominster and arrived to discover that the manager had never heard of the booking, or indeed of lastminute.com. As it turns out we think we were the only people there in a decaying vast space where the bridle suite (sic) must have been delightful if we had been able to see it!
Leominster seemed to be the place that time forgot...tea in a hippy tea room with cracked china and decaying furniture...but then to The Roebuck in Brimfield for a chic supper where the highlight was my lobster ravioli.
Home via Witley Court with its theatrical ruins in blustery winds and sun.
