I cannot imagine how anyone in Malta can be slim and elegant, as indeed many people are. The restaurant portions are enormous, American sizes... and so delicious is the food that it is hard to leave any on the plate!

The fortifications are mind blowing and the windy views over the harbours just wonderful. But I am still most in love with the decaying grandeur of the houses with their lovely Spanish enclosed balconies.
