Nick Cooper has retired and is now cycling 1800 kilometres through Kyrgyzstan on the Silk Road Mountain Race. He did it some time ago and had to withdraw with a knee injury so this time he is determined to finish.
Trish Maggie and I are dot watching his progress on the map and willing him on. We are nearly as breathless as he is. He is on 1020 kilometres as I write and is high in the mountains.
