An operation on Wednesday to put a nail through my femur to strengthen the cancer weakened section at the top. Fascinating experience…doctors, surgeons and anaesthetists are all much younger than they used to be! Ward staff are gentle, thoughtful and caring whatever is going on around them. And what would have taken 5 days in hospital in 2005 now takes one night and a morning with some physio exercises, practising crutches and then you are home.
So, slow and gentle recovery. I need to pace this because I am so anxious to get going all the time!
